Chipotle Sofritas Bowl

We are happy to introduce one of the Chiptole menus today.


  • 1 block of extra firm tofu

For the Sauce

  • 1/2 cup chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 2 tbsp. olive oil

  • 1 tsp each: salt, oregano, cumin

  • 1 cup of water

For the Fillings(depends on your favor)

  • 1/4 cup of onion

  • 1/2 lime

  • 1/4 cup of corn

  • 1/4 cup of black beans

  • 1/4 cup of brown rice


  • Press tofu for 30-35 min.

  • Place all ingredients except for tofu in a blender and blend until smooth.

  • Crumble your tofu in a medium pan and sauté over medium heat until the surface turns golden.

  • Add your sauce to the pan.

  • When it begins to simmer turn to low heat and reduce the mixture until the tofu has soaked up the sauce and there is little liquid in the pan.

  • Place the fillings in the bowl.
