Sesame Tofu Pasta

Italy and Asia talk in the same bowl! Tasty, comforting and quick to prepare this dish is perfect after a long day of work. If you have a little more time, you can also marinate the tofu in the sauce for 1 or 2 hours.



This easy recipe with familiar ingredients – soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and tofu have the perfect balance with its salty and a little bit of sweet taste, yes, yes sweet since we added a few tablespoons of maple syrup!

Ingredients


  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

  • 2 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 onion chopped

  • 1 pepper chopped

  • 1 cup mushroom chopped

  • 1 block firm tofu, pressed

  • 14 cup neutral oil

  • 4 oz. long pasta of your choice(fettuccini, linguine, spaghetti, etc)



Instructions


  • Whisk, soy sauce, maple syrup, and sesame oil, lime juice and garlic in a medium bowl.

  • Press tofu for 30 min, cut tofu into cubes.

  • Heat oil in a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high. Cook tofu, undisturbed, until very crisp about 5 minutes on each side.

  • Add onion and pepper and cook for another 3 minutes.

  • Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to the package directions

  • Once cook Transfer the pasta to the pan with the tofu mixture. Add the soya sauce mixture and toss until the pasta is coated with sauce.

  • Divide pasta among bowls. Top with green onion.
