Tofu Nuggets

We all live busy lives, and if our time spent in the kitchen isn't fun, we resort to ordering fast-food for the night. Healthy living requires us to spend a little bit of time in the kitchen, and still, it is a huge challenge for us. Don't rely on fast-food snack for your kids, try these healthy plant-based nuggets today and give yourself a big applause.

We added nutritional yeast to upgrade cheesy, nutty flavor nuggets, but you definitely can make the recipe without it. It will differ slightly in taste but it will work just as well.

Prep Time: 20 mins

Cook Time: 35 mins

Servings: 2-3


  • 1 block firm tofu

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1/3 cup cornstarch

  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • Preheat oven to 400'F.

  • Press your tofu for 20 mins. Cut it into bite-sized pieces.

  • In one bowl combine cornstarch with 1/2 cup water. In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, nutritional yeast, and spices.

  • Dip each piece of tofu in the cornstarch mixture then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture.

  • Lay the pieces out on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes.

  • Optional: spray the nuggets with oil before putting them in the oven for extra crispiness
